Rubio's Daughter Released From Hospital After Crash

MIAMI (CBS4) – Senator Marco Rubio's daughter has been released from the hospitalized and is home recuperating with her family after she was injured in a crash involving a golf cart over the weekend.

According to a statement from Sen. Rubio's office, Amanda Rubio, 12, was released from Miami Children's Hospital Sunday evening and is recuperating from a concussion. "Her condition has stabilized and should improve in the coming days. Her prognosis is good and she is expected to make a full recovery."

The statement went on, "Senator and Mrs. Rubio are grateful for the many messages of support and prayers for their daughter and they are grateful to the Miami-Dade Fire Department and the staff at the Pediatric Trauma Center at Miami Children's Hospital for their excellent care."

Sen. Rubio was at a campaign event with Mitt Romney in Kissimmee on Saturday when he heard about his daughter's accident.

He arrived back in South Florida Saturday evening.

Rubio has four children. Amanda is the oldest.
