Romney Ad Tries To Link Obama With Chavez & Castro
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Republican nominee Mitt Romney's campaign has come under fire for airing false claims in commercials in Ohio, but his campaign is now targeting the Hispanic vote in Florida with ads linking President Barack Obama to Hugo Chavez and the Castro's.
Chavez and Mariela Castro, the daughter of Raul Castro, have both said they would vote for President Obama if they lived here. Chavez said if Obama were from Venezuela, he'd vote for Chavez. The Romney campaign put the ad out on the radio in the Miami market.
The Romney campaign came under fire for ads in Ohio that implied Chrysler was going to send American jobs building Jeeps to China. Chrysler's chairman rebuked the ad as false and GM's leadership was harshly critical of the Romney ad.
Another Romney campaign ad in Ohio brought back the thoroughly debunked claim that President Obama had removed work requirements for welfare.
