Man riding bicycle struck and killed by minor riding dirt bike on Rickenbacker Causeway, Miami Police say

A bicyclist is dead after he was struck and killed by a minor riding a dirt bike on the Rickenbacker Causeway on Friday night, police said.

Around 8:20 p.m., 54-year-old Fabian Moses was riding his bicycle when he was hit by "a juvenile riding an electric dirt bike" on the William Powell Bridge's eastbound lanes, City of Miami Police told CBS News Miami. Police also initially told CBS News Miami that there was another minor on the dirt bike at the time of the crash.

"Looks like an approximately 40-year-old male fell off his bike, hit his head and has a head injury," dispatch audio obtained by CBS News Miami said shortly after the crash. "On the bridge — three trauma alerts."

Moses was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he died.

Police told CBS News Miami that the minor — who has not been identified at this time — was also taken to the hospital with facial injuries. The second minor stayed at the scene, but police didn't say whether they were also injured.

Miami Police told CBS News Miami that no charges have been filed yet as the investigation continues.
