Report: Rasheed Wallace Tries Out For Heat
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – On a day when the entire world is talking about quarterback Peyton Manning, leave it to the Miami Heat to try and upstage the future Hall of Famer.
According to Chris Tomasson of Fox Sport Florida, retired power forward Rasheed Wallace worked out with the Heat.
"A source close to the situation confirmed Rasheed Wallace has worked out with the Heat, but source said he [Wallace] hasn't decided if he'll play again," Tomasson tweeted.
Wallace has also been said to be close to a deal with the Los Angeles Lakers in recent weeks.
Rasheed, a 15-year-pro, hasn't played this season. Two years ago with the Celtics, Sheed averaged 9 points and 22 minutes per game.
Even if the Heat were interested, Wallace would play limited minutes. Still, a 6'11", 240 pound power forward who shoots well from around the floor would only bolster the ability of the Heat's slashers, Dwyane Wade and LeBron James, to get to the basket.
