NFL QB's On The Move Monday

OAKLAND (CBSMiami) – Two quarterbacks are on the move Monday as trading season in the National Football League is well underway.

The first quarterback to get traded Monday was Matt Flynn. The former Green Bay Packer and Seattle Seahawk signed a lucrative contract with Seattle last season, but didn't get a chance to start after Russell Wilson took over the starting job.

Flynn was traded to the Oakland Raiders for two late-round picks in the next two drafts, according to Fox Sports' Jay Glazer. The exact picks aren't known, but with a former Packers executive running the Raiders, it's no surprise to see Oakland look to go younger at quarterback with someone the team is familiar with.

But, Oakland isn't done with their quarterback trades Monday. According to Glazer, the Raiders are now trying to finalize a trade of quarterback Carson Palmer to the Arizona Cardinals for a late round pick.

The Raiders and Palmer have been locked in a stare down since the former Cincinnati Bengals quarterback refused to take a salary cut. Palmer was solid at times last season, throwing for 4,018 yards, 22 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions for a quarterback rating of 85.3 on the season.

The Cardinals quarterback situation has been abysmal since Kurt Warner retired a few years ago. Palmer, on the downside of his career, is still better than anyone on the Cardinals' starting roster.

Still, Palmer is developing quite a reputation after talking his way out of his last two jobs.

Once the second trade is completed, Arizona is likely to turn its full attention to the offensive line, which has also been horrid in protecting the quarterback and opening holes for running backs.
