Pompano Beach Giving Away Rehabbed Home

POMPANO BEACH (CBS4) - One lucky couple who lives in Pompano Beach will soon be living a new home free of charge.

The city bought a foreclosed home in the Leisureville retirement community off I-95 and Copans Road and fixed it up. The house is a 1,117 square foot 2 bed/1 bath home valued at $83,000. It has a one car garage, a new air conditioner, energy-efficient appliances, new hurricane impact resistant windows with a community golf course and pool.  The city is giving away the home in an effort get others interested in buying homes they've rehabbed through the Neighborhood Stabilization Program.

In order to qualify for the home, applicants must be city residents, at least 55 years old and have a maximum household income for a two person family of $76,080.

Those interested can pick up application from June 22nd – 24th at City Hall located at 100 W Atlantic Boulevard. Applications must be submitted no later than July 8th.

The first 75 applicants who qualify will be eligible for the drawing which will be held during the July 26th commission meeting.
