MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Authorities turned up with nothing after a reported bomb threat at a Miami courthouse Tuesday morning.

According to Miami Police, a man called in saying he was being held hostage in a black car with a possible bomb inside and the car was in the parking lot at the Richard E. Gerstein Justice Building located at 1351 NW 12 Street.

Through the morning, parking lots and streets near the building were evacuated as bomb-sniffing dogs smelled every car in the lots.  No one was being allowed in or out at the time.

Around 11 a.m., authorities said they found nothing after their hours-long search.  The parking lots and streets have since been reopened.

Throughout the whole ordeal, Miami Police said the building remained open for regular business
