1 suspect still at large after traffic stop in Miami-Dade leads to murder investigation search

A suspect remains on the loose after a traffic stop in northwest Miami-Dade turned into a lengthy police search on Friday evening.

Police say three people were detained after officers tried to stop a vehicle just before 6 p.m. Officers detained three of them, but a fourth person got away.

Investigators spent about four hours searching for the remaining suspect.

The vehicle was reportedly connected to a previously reported case nearby.

The search involved a helicopter, officers in tactical gear, and K-9 units.

Some neighbors said they couldn't get into their homes during the search.

Police have confirmed that the three people detained are in connection with a homicide investigation. The search for the fourth subject continues as the scene was cleared late into the evening. 

The circumstances surrounding the investigation remain unclear, and police have not released the identity of the suspect who remains at large.
