Police: Teacher Caught With Teen In Back Seat Of Her Car

FT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) -- She's an actress and a drama school teacher at Forest Glen Middle School in Coral Springs, but her latest appearance was very different than all the rest.

Pamela Stigger, 33, appeared in bond court Friday on charges of sexual battery and lewd behavior with a 15-year-old former student.

"This woman was discovered parked in an area of Tamarac at two o'clock in the morning with this teenage boy in the back seat of her car," said sheriff's spokeswoman Gina Carter.

On Thursday, Stigger was taken into custody by a Broward Sheriff's deputy, near the intersection of N.W. 70th Avenue and N.W. 58th Street in Tamarac.

"When she was questioned about what they were doing and if they had, in fact, engaged in sexual acts, she denied being engaged in these sexual acts," said Carter. "Despite the fact that the young man was undressed."

Investigators said the car was parked, not near the roadway, but on it, obstructing traffic. The deputy said when she approached, she saw Stigger inside with the teenager, who was nude from the waist down.

Initially, Stigger told the deputy that the teen was trying to seduce her. According to Carter, her story then changed.

"She did say that she was in the process of mentoring this past student of hers, even though it was two o'clock in the morning, and they were in the back seat of a car," said Carter.

Broward Schools released a statement saying in part that Stigger has been "administratively reassigned away from the school, and will not be permitted access to students."

In addition to teaching drama, Stigger is an aspiring actress herself. She has a page on the International Movie Database website (IMDB) which list several upcoming movies she's set to appear in later this year.

Stigger was also featured in a story on CBS4 in 2014 when her award-winning drama students were trying to raise money to compete in the National Thespian Competition held in Nebraska. Several members of her Junior Thespian Troupe, who received 'superior' scores at this year's state competition, have been invited to compete in the nationals this year.

"I saw her get performances out of these children that were fantastic," said parent Carl Barry, whose daughter is in the drama club.

He said they're shocked by the news, especially since they're performing this weekend.

"I know this is going to crush her," said Barry. "I know this is going to crush her. They worked to hard to prepare for this."
