Guillen Returns To Marlins Dugout After Suspension

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The Miami Marlins are coming off their first home series, which saw them win two of three games. But Tuesday when the Marlins returned to the field, they also saw the return of their manager.

The game, against the Chicago Cubs, was the first game manager Ozzie Guillen was back on the bench. Guillen was suspended for five games for his comments on Fidel Castro, but he hasn't been on the field at Marlins Park until Tuesday night's game.

The Marlins put up a 2-3 record without Guillen on the bench as manager.

After Guillen's comments were made public, the Cuban community in Miami rose up in a rage at the unnecessary and inflammatory comments. The Marlins played before large, but not full crowds over the weekend against the Houston Astros.

There had been rumors of protests accompanying Guillen's return to the bench Tuesday night, but there was nothing out of the ordinary at Marlins park.
