Marc Anthony Revealed As Halftime Performer At 'El Clasico Miami'

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- One of the biggest names in music is set to perform for one of soccer's biggest events.

Marc Anthony was announced Wednesday as the half-time performer at this summer's El Clasico Miami showdown between Real Madrid and Barcelona.

"There's a lot of firsts and to be able to say that after 30 years in this industry is amazing," the superstar singer told CBS4's Vanessa Borge.

"The best Hispanic performer in the world, Marc Anthony!" said  real estate billionaire real estate billionaire.

Perez is an ambassador for El Clasico and made the announcement that Anthony would be the half time performer.

Like the super bowl ---Marc Anthony has 7 minutes to wow the more than 400 million people who will be watching.

"This is the biggest single sporting event in the world," Perez said. "This is the first time it's ever come U.S. and the second time in its history it's left Spain."

"Jorge, I'm not going to sleep for two months now!' Anthony joked.

The Super Bowl-like sporting event will take place at Hard Rock Stadium on July 29th featuring some of the sport's most popular stars like Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar.

The week of festivities begins Wednesday July 26th with a game between Italy's Juventus and France's Paris Saint-Germain. A Legends game, skills competitions and an open training session are other planned events.

Limited tickets are available but the game is expected to sell out.
