Man Struck, Killed Running On I-595

FT. LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – A Miami man was killed when he was struck by a car as he ran along I-595.

Ralph Brown, 48, was heading east on I-595 when he got into an altercation with his passenger, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Brown pulled over onto the side of the highway East of State Road 7. Then he and his passenger both got out and continued fighting.

At one point, the FHP said Brown tried to run away. As he stepped onto the roadway he was struck by a car driven by 29-year old Mandy Horner.

Brown died on the scene.

The FHP charges against Horner are pending the outcome of their investigation.
