MIAMI (CBSMiami) - A Miami jury has convicted one of two men accused in the killing of a jogger in Coral Gables.
Kendrick Silver, 27, was found guilty of first degree murder in the death of 39-year-old Jose Marchese-Berrios.
In May 2007, Berrios was out on a late night run when he was shot by Silver.
Berrios staggered home to his second-floor apartment and managed to tell his wife he had been shot before collapsing.
Miami-Dade police detectives, at the time of the crime, were able to track down Silver and Oniel Pedley, 27, by way of a stolen cell phone.
Pedley and Silver were arrested in June 2007 in Delray Beach after allegedly storming a pizzeria, shooting and wounding three people.
In July, 2007, Pedley pleaded guilty to his involvement in two murders and was sentenced to 40 years in prison.
Silver will be facing the death penalty when he's sentenced next month.
