MIAMI (CBSMiami) - A man accused of shooting an international exchange student during a violent robbery in Wynwood is currently being held without bond.
Devin Lewis, 24, is charged with attempted felony murder and armed robbery.
Lewis reportedly robbed 28-year old Frank Hammar on June 7th near NW 2nd Avenue and 26th Street.
Surveillance video from the area shows Hammar putting his phone on the ground and backing away from Lewis and another man, according to police.
When Lewis and his accomplice reportedly told Hammar to hand over his wallet - he refused. That's when Lewis pulled a gun, pointed at the Swedish exchange student and told him "Put everything on the floor, I'm not kidding," according to the arrest report.
Shots were fired and Hammar was hit twice.
Hammar was taken to the Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition. He was released ten days later.
