WILTON MANORS (CBSMiami) – A grassroots effort by people galvanized and angered by the recent shootings in Orlando, Dallas, Minnesota and Louisiana is taking place in our backyard.

The group stands by their motto and their name: Love Always Wins.

They are hoping that the message they send reaches the members of our community and convinces them to stand up against hate.

Tom Runyan is one of the co-founders of the group.

He said he and others were so disturbed by the shooting at the gay nightclub Pulse in Orlando that they felt they needed to stand up and make their voices heard.

And following the shootings of black men in Louisiana and Minnesota – along with the murders of five Dallas police officers – he said these rallies took on even greater significance.

"While we're not a political group, we're here to say, 'Something's gotta give. Something's gotta stop. Can we bring everybody together? Can we have a little love in our community?'" Runyan said.

Love Always Wins rallied until 8 p.m. Monday but they plan to meet at Oakland Park and Federal Highway each Monday trying to spread their hopeful and positive message.
