Local Organization Helps Dress Underprivileged Students
MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Just in time for school on Monday, a local organization made sure those in need of school attire got it on Saturday.
The Style Saves Foundation let kids take their pick of free clothes , jewelry and other accessories at their fourth annual Back-to-School In-Style event at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts.
Many of the children are either homeless or migrants.
The children also got a day of pampering and activities like makeovers, free haircuts, face painting and mini yoga classes.

One local vision company also gave kids free eye exams, complimentary prescription frames and lenses.
Miami-Dade Superintendent Alberto Carvalho was at Saturday's event. He praised the organization for not only giving out clothes but also hope and opportunity to the children.
"To the community as a whole it means a lot but to the people who are in need it means everything. These are individuals who show up to school sometimes literally barefoot, without the appropriate clothing, without school supplies, without the things that we as human beings take for granted," said Carvalho. "This is about delivering something big, about building community one kid at a time and I'm eternally grateful."
Organizers said over 600 students were able to get what they needed.
