LAUDERHILL (CBSMiami) --  A Lauderhill preschool has reopened a week after dozens of kids were rushed to the hospital.

Ave Marie Friends Preparatory School located at 5801 NW 19th Street reopened Monday after the school was closed down for decontamination and testing a week before.

At last check, Florida Health officials were trying to find out what caused 29 children to become sick at the preschool. Out of those, 21 were taken to the hospital, some wheeled out on stretchers.

The children were experiencing symptoms of nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and dehydration, according to authorities.

A hazmat crew did not find anything hazardous at the school, prompting authorities to check out the food the kids had eaten.

It has not been confirmed if the food was the cause. As of last week, authorities were still awaiting test results from the Florida Department of Health.
