John Leguizamo Bringing His One Man Show To Miami Beach

MIAMI BEACH (CBS4) - There's no grass growing under the feet of John Leguizamo. The Emmy award winning actor, comedian, writer and father of two has been dubbed "The Hispanic Hurricane".

This week the 47 year-old star is taking his one man show "Ghetto Klown to the Fillmore on Miami Beach

"This is first time I've been to this theater," said Leguizamo. "My hero Jackie Gleason played here. I am so honored to be here."

"Ghetto Klown" is a show he created about the ups and downs of making it in show business.

"It's me telling you what really happens all the time behind the scenes in the business and what it's like on TV. Everything looks great. No, it's not," he said.

Throughout his career, John has made more than fifty films.

"Not all good. There's a lot of good, the pest and then some others," said Leguizamo.

Namely "Ice Age", A favorite of audiences of all ages. Leguizamo plays Sid, the slurring sloth. He'll revisit that role this summer when the third "Ice Age" film is released.

Living the high life hasn't changes this Latino star, who grew up in Queens, New York, and still calls the Big Apple home.  As a dad to an 11 year old boy and 12 year old girl he's doing his best to keep his kids on the high rode.

"I bring them adversity; a little adversity goes a long way," said Leguizamo. "I try to make them earn what they get. But, once in a while you got to give the kids that game or XBOX and say go and play. Leave Mommy and me alone for a minutes."

John Leguizamo brings his Ghetto Klown Show to The Fillmore Miami Beach March 9-12.
