Humberto Not Yet A Hurricane
MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Humberto, according to the latest advisory, remains a tropical storm but is expected to become Hurricane Humberto on Wednesday.
At 11 p.m., the center of the storm was about 270 miles west of the southernmost Cape Verde Islands.
Humberto's maximum sustained winds were 70 mph as it moved to the northwest at 7 mph. The storm is expected to turn northward at a slightly faster forward speed during the next two days.
The system, as of Tuesday evening, poses no threat to land and there are no coastal watches or warnings.
Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 115-miles from the center.
