Foreign Films Take Over Miami

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A different kind of film festival is rolling into town; one that will take viewers on a journey through the world without ever leaving the city.

Mexican, Italian, Greek, Russian and other foreign films will take over the big screen at the 29th Miami International Film Festival.

The festival launches Friday with its Opening Night Gala at Miami Dade College's Freedom Tower in Downtown following the world premiere of a film at The Gusman Center for the Performing Arts, and runs thru March 11.

The films, including indie American and foreign films, as well as documentaries from local film makers, will be played in different venues including: Regal South Beach Cinemas, the Coral Gables Art Cinema, O Cinema, and Miami Beach Cinematheque

The Miami International Film Festival is produced and presented by Miami Dade College and organizers say it attracts more than 70,000 audience members and more than 400 film professionals.
