Healthy environment. Healthy lifestyles. Healthy community. That vision by the Florida Department of health led to the creation of the "Consortium for a Healthier Miami-Dade."
That, and a survey that found that more than 80% of Miami-Dade residents were either overweight, did not engage in physical activity, had high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and/or were smokers.
The consortium is made up of 161 organizations, dedicated to helping us live longer, and happier lives. One of the ways it works toward that goal is through its "Make Healthy Happen Miami" campaign.
We focus on the many diversified components of the campaign and the impact it is making..
