DAVIE (CBSMiami) – Miami Dolphins safety Louis Delmas is known as the Haitian Sensation.
The hard hitting safety is known for his big hits on the field and fun loving attitude off the field.
CBS4 Sports' Kim Bokamper sat down with Delmas at Tap Tap, a Haitian Restaurant in South Beach to talk about his Haitian roots and also the game of football.
Delmas was quick to point out that he feels a lot of pride in being from Haiti, as well as playing for the Dolphins.
"Not only playing for the Miami Dolphins but also throughout the whole NFL, I do take pride in it and want people to know who I am and my heritage," said Delmas. "I love being Haitian, that's who I am."
The 28-year-old tore his ACL last December in a game against the Baltimore Ravens and missed the final three weeks of the season.
Delmas has come back from injuries before and looks forward to getting back on the field with his Dolphins teammates.
"I'm highly excited, being my season was cut short last year, and I can't wait," he said.
