Disney Releases First Trailer For "Maleficent"

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Disney has released the first trailer for "Maleficent"—the untold story of Disney's most iconic villain from the 1959 classic "Sleeping Beauty."

The movie stars Angelina Jolie as the pointy-headed villain and in the trailer; you see and hear the wicked character for the first time.

The live-action film retells the story of "Sleeping Beauty" from the perspective of the iconic female villain and reveals the events that hardened Maleficent's heart and drove her to curse the baby, Aurora.

The film also stars Sharlto Copley, Elle Fanning, Sam Riley, Imelda Staunton, Juno Temple and Lesley Manville.

Disney also kept it in the family when casting the kids in the film. Jolie's 5-year-old daughter Vivienne has a small role in the movie as the young version of Princess Aurora and can be seen in the trailer as well.

Her older siblings Pax, 9, and Zahara, 8, also have cameo appearances.

"Maleficent" opens in theaters on May 30, 2014.
