Deputies: Jealous Man Kills Ex-Girlfriend's New Beau

OAKLAND (CBSMiami) -- A man is behind bars accused of killing his ex-girlfriends new beau.

Broward Sheriff's deputies arrested Anthony Dippolito, 56, for allegedly killing the 52-year old man on Thursday morning.

Investigators said Dippolito had been spying on the couple through the window of their Oakland Park apartment on Wednesday evening.

Dippolito confronted the couple various times throughout the night. At around 2:00 a.m., Dippolito went back to the home and pounded on the door, according to deputies.

The new boyfriend answered the door which led to a verbal altercation and escalated into a physical altercation.

Dippolito then allegedly hit the man in the face and head until he was limp and unresponsive.

Deputies arrived to find the woman's new boyfriend lying on the walkway dead with Dippolito's car keys next to him, according to investigators. His car was also still parked at the house.

The Broward Medical Examiner's Office concluded that the man died of blunt force trauma including a broken neck.

Dippolito had run off but deputies were able to arrest him blocks away from the home.

He is facing a charge of second degree murder.
