Crooks Weave Deceptive Story Before Violently Robbing Wig Shop

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Four women posing as interested clients were caught on camera pepper spraying a wig shop clerk before stealing pricey hair extensions.

Miami police released surveillance video from inside the store at 2601 NW 5th Ave.

Two of the suspects approached the store clerk and pretended to be interested in some human hair items from behind the counter.

After browsing and chatting with the clerk for a bit, one of thieves pepper sprayed her in the eyes while tugging a product from her hands.

Another woman ran behind the counter and started taking pieces off the wall.

Police said one woman took the clerk's cellphone on her way out.

Investigators said all the women appear to be between 20 and 25 years old.

Here is what they were wearing on the June 22 theft:

  1. White shirt with red lettering, carrying a black purse.
  2. Dark blue or purple light sweater, blue jeans carrying a white purse.
  3. Green jacket, white necklace, blue undershirt and green pants.
  4. Blue Kangol hat, blue tank top and blue jeans.
