Couple Struck Crossing A Cooper City Street

COOPER CITY (CBSMiami) – An elderly couple was rushed to the hospital after they were struck by a car as they crossed the street.

According to the Broward Sheriff's Office, they received a call about the accident at the intersection of Sheridan Street and Hiatus Road around 9:20 a.m. The driver of the car which struck the couple remained on the scene until sheriff's deputies arrived.

Chopper4 over the scene spotted green Honda with a large hole in its heavily damaged windshield.

The injured man was placed in an ambulance and rushed to Memorial Regional Hospital; the injured woman was airlifted to the same hospital. The sheriff's office has not released their names or the extent of their injuries.
