Cops Called Heroes After Pulling Man From Burning Car

TAMPA (CBSMiami/AP) — Several Tampa police officers who pulled an unconscious man from a burning car have been hailed as heroes.

Two cars collided Saturday night and one burst into flames, leaving an unconscious man trapped inside.

Officers tried to remove him, but the fire continued to grow. Rescuers were not able to immediately put out the fire, so officers had to pull the man out of the burning vehicle. He was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Six Tampa police officers suffered from smoke inhalation and were also treated at the hospital.
