Community Kicks Off "Little Haiti Sunday Stroll"

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Art lovers flocked to Little Haiti on Sunday for the first ever "Little Haiti Sunday Stroll".

It's a new event taking place on the first Sunday of every other month and it features a variety of local businesses showing off their wares.

The idea is to give the curious a look into the evolving culture of Little Haiti.

For example, at Yo Space Artist Collective, an abandoned warehouse has been transformed into a 'funky' arts space.

"It's kind of very deep rooted, the culture in the area. So there's a lot of character in the neighborhood, both in the architecture and the art that you see," said Yo Miami owner Yuval Ofir.

Organizers of the Little Haiti Sunday Stroll said they decided to kick off the new event after hearing complaints of the large crowds and rowdy atmosphere at the Wynwood Saturday Art Walks.
