Car, Boat Aficionados Get Fix With South Florida Shows

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Car and boat lovers can flock to South Florida this weekend for two shows aimed to peak their interest.

The 45th Annual  Miami International Auto Show is pulling into town this weekend.

The 10-day event will be at the Miami Beach Convention Center.

Packed with hundreds of new cars, this show is considered one of the largest in the nation.

Aside from the typical, those who attend will be able to see Porsche's Lego car which is half real Porsche and half Lego bricks - about 380,000 of them.

In Broward, the 56th Annual Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show is off and running.

Four billion dollars worth of boats, mega-yachts and anything having to do with boating will be on display.

Boat show organizers are putting together a study to figure out exactly how much the event brings in annually. As of recently, tourism officials say it's about $20 million.

The show lasts until Monday, Nov. 9th.
