Visitation Rules Set For Mother Of Boy Injured In Shooting
FT. LAUDERDALE (CBS4) – Some ground rules have been set for the mother of a five year old Pembroke Park boy who was hospitalized after being injured in a shooting in his family's apartment.
During a dependency hearing on Thursday a judge said the Shamor Dunkling, who is pregnant, could have unsupervised visits with her son in the hospital. Once he's released from the hospital, she will be allowed to have supervised visits.
Dunkling's 8-year old daughter will be placed with her biological father once a home study is completed.
According to Broward Sheriff's investigators Kamoy Sharpe fired the gun inside the apartment on Wednesday. The bullet went through the wall into the room where the boy was sleeping. It's unclear if the boy was struck by the bullet or wounded by flying debris.
The Dunkling drove him to Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital where his listed as stable and expected to recover.
Broward Circuit Judge John "Jay" Hurley ordered that Sharpe, who is charged with child neglect, tampering with evidence and violation of parole, beheld without bond.
Sharpe allegedly asked three other people to help him hide the gun.
One of those, Kenata Williams who is charged with tampering with evidence and violation of probation, was also ordered held without bond.
Samaro Spencer, charged with tampering with evidence, was given a $1,000 bond.
Bond was also set at $1,000 for Shanek Heron, 20, who is also charged with tampering with evidence. Heron is Dunkling sister and she has a two month old child with Williams.
Because Heron and Williams are both in jail, they judge ruled their baby will remain in foster care.
