Deadly double shooting in front of food truck in Northwest Miami-Dade
Two people were killed in an overnight shooting at a food truck in northwest Miami-Dade.
The shooting happened just after midnight next to the truck which was parked off NW 27 Avenue near NW 30 Street.
When Miami-Dade Sheriff's deputies arrived they found a man and woman who had been shot. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue pronounced the woman dead. She's been identified as 27-year-old Jeankerly Maria Linares Marin, according to sheriff's investigators.
The man was taken to the Ryder Trauma Center where he died.
Sheriff's investigators said an argument led to the deadly shooting.
"The subject approached the victims at a local establishment, a food truck, had an altercation of words where the subject brandished a firearm and shot at the victims," Joseph Peguero, with the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office, said.
Peguero said a second woman who was with the man and woman who died was also shot at. She managed to get away unharmed.
Lester person lives down the street. He said he was appalled when he heard what had happened.
"People standing at the food truck. Who would have ever guessed? In their minds they would never have guessed this was the last few moments of my life. I'm getting ready to leave here," he said.
Investigators have not released the names of those who died or issued a description of the shooter.
