Drunk Driving, Speeding May Be Factors In Deadly Rollover Crash In Southwest Miami-Dade
SOUTHWEST MIAMI DADE – A stretch of Bird Road in Southwest Miami-Dade is reopen after being shutdown for hours following a deadly rollover crash.
Police say drunk driving and speeding may be factors in the crash that shutdown Bird Road (SW 40th Street) from SW 128th and 125th Avenues for hours early Friday.
Two vehicles, a Toyota Tundra and a Hyundai, were involved in a violent collision around 3:00 a.m. at the intersection of Bird and SW 127th Avenue, according to Miami-Dade Police.
The driver of the black Toyota Tundra pick up truck died after it landed upside down on the side of road.
Police say he may have been killed by a drunk driver. His identity is not being released until next of kin is notified.
The second car, a Hyundai, had two people inside.
A woman, who suffered critical injuries after being ejected from the car and a man, also hurt critically, were both hospitalized.
Police plan to question the man for possibly driving drunk. He is in police custody while hospitalized.
Police are looking for surveillance video and witnesses to help in their investigation.
