Miami Gardens Father Murdered After Heated Argument Takes A Violent Turn
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A family is devastated Monday night after a deadly shooting in front of a Miami Gardens house.
When CBS4's Joel Waldman arrived on the scene, very emotional people were already gathered right by where the shooting happened. One woman shouted that the victim was her child's father.
A neighbor, who did not want to share their identity, said she was surprised to come home to a murder on the street she's been living on for close to 30 years.
"We look out for each other, we help raise each other's kids. This is a nice kind neighborhood," she said.
Neighbors say the man who was shot and killed along the 3500 block of NW 200 Street was also the father of a young child.
The dad reportedly got into a heated exchange with another man, who then pulled out a gun, firing at least one fatal shot.
The woman who spoke to CBS4 off camera said only this about her neighbor who was killed: "Those kinds of people that are across the street, those are little young kids who are trying to live fast."
Now, the slow reality of a life lost much too soon settling in as the Miami-Dade medical examiner's van takes off, leaving with it a path of grief for family and friends to try to make sense of.
Miami Gardens PD said they took the shooter into custody.
