Gov. Rick Scott Signs Bill To Benefit Special Needs Students
TALLAHASSEE (CBSMiami) – A bill that will grant the parents of special needs students more say in their education has been signed and will take effect Monday.
The bill was signed by Governor Rick Scott Friday.
As of Monday, parents of special needs students will have a greater say in their individual education plan and in shaping the curriculum.
It also ensures that students with disabilities have access to the professionals and resources that will best serve them.
The measure was sponsored by Republican Sen. Andy Gardiner or Orlando.
