2 Canes Declare Early For NFL Draft

IAMI (CBSMiami.com) – The Miami Hurricanes will be a little bit thinner at wide receiver and defensive tackle next season.

Hurricanes junior defensive tackle Marcus Forston and wide receiver Tommy Streeter announced Monday that they will forego their senior season and enter the NFL Draft, the team said.

Streeter has a ready-made NFL body, but he caught just 46 passes for 811 yards and eight touchdowns and was far from dominant as a receiver.

He led the ACC with a 17.6 yard average per catch, according to CBS4 news partner the Miami Herald.

Forston was rated as a top defensive tackle coming into Miami, but failed to live up to expectations.

Forston battled injuries throughout his college career including a season-ending knee injury this year.

The loss of Streeter could be tougher for the team to manage than Forston. The Hurricanes will also see receivers Travis Benjamin and LaRon Byrd graduate this season.
