Judge Delays Custody Decision In Missing Mom Case

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – The husband of a missing South Florida woman will have to wait longer to find out if he'll regain custody of his three children.

Cid Torrez, husband of missing Miramar woman Vilet Torrez, went to court Thursday in hopes that he could get custody of his kids once again or at least get more time to spend with them. However, the judge ruled another hearing must be held.

That hearing date has been set for May 29th.

Torrez' three children were placed into the custody of their maternal grandparents about a week after their mother disappeared without a trace on March 30th after she returned to her home.

Cid currently has supervised visits with his children.

Police believe foul play is suspected in Torrez' disappearance and her estranged husband, Cid, has been named a person of interest in the case.

Police have searched canals and waterways in Miramar and surrounding areas with cadaver dogs but haven't found anything.
