1 Dead After Hialeah Gardens Accident Involving School Bus, Several Vehicles

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A pedestrian has died after a Tuesday afternoon accident in Hialeah Gardens involving a school bus and several other vehicles.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened at NW 103 Street and NW 77 Avenue near Mater Academy Charter Middle/High School.

FHP said a Dodge pickup truck was traveling south on the SR 826 when the vehicle struck a pedestrian on the exit ramp to NW 103 Street.

According to FHP, the Dodge then hit a black Audi sedan, a Ford sedan, a white Honda sedan and a Miami-Dade County Public Schools bus.

FHP said the pedestrian struck died on scene, while the driver of the Audi was airlifted as a trauma alert to Ryder Trauma Center.

Only minor injuries were reported for those on the school bus.

In a statement from Miami-Dade County Public Schools, a spokesperson said the MDCPS bus "was servicing students attending Hialeah Gardens Middle School."

FHP shut down the southbound 826 exit ramp to NW 103 Street as well as a portion of NW 103 Street to investigate.
