Santa Rosa Island Fire burns nearly 17,000 acres
Since starting on Friday at around 4:20 p.m., the Santa Rosa Island Fire has burned nearly 17,000 acres of vegetation in the Channel Islands National Park, which is located off the coast of Santa Barbara. The massive fire has burned what appears to be nearly a third of the southern part of the island and remains just 26% contained as of Tuesday evening.
