Will Ferrell Narrates '30 For 30' Short On Lakers' 'Iron Virgin' AC Green

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A couple of Hollywood heavyweights are lending their talents to a mini-documentary on one of the Los Angeles Lakers' most unique players.

Narrated by Will Ferrell and executive produced by Oscar-winning writer Adam McKay, "A.C. Green: Iron Virgin", the latest installment of
ESPN's acclaimed "30 for 30 Shorts" series, looks at what life in the spotlight was like for highly devout Green during the fast-paced Showtime era.

Several Laker greats are featured in the short film, including Hall of Fame guard and former GM Jerry West - who said of Green, "I've never seen a nicer athlete" - and former fellow Showtime-era teammates Byron Scott and James Worthy.

Green, who was very outspoken about his faith and was often seen by teammates praying and carrying a Bible around to various events, won three championships with the Lakers and is considered to be the NBA's all-time "Iron Man" after playing 1,192 consecutive games.

"Why miss? What was I supposed to sit out for or not play for?" said Green. "I didn't get hurt bad enough."

After his retirement, Green went on to become an advocate for abstinence and reportedly remained abstinent himself until the age of 38, when he married wife Veronique Green in 2002.
