WeHo Going Green With Citywide Yard Sale

WEST HOLLYWOOD (KNX 1070) — If you're looking to score a good deal, you may want to head to West Hollywood this weekend for a citywide yard sale.

"In these very lean economic times, people may need a few extra bucks to pay for food, groceries, bills, whatever it may be. Get rid of all your stuff that's been cluttering up your home and make a few dollars in the meantime," Mayor Pro Tempore Jeffrey Prang told KNX 1070 Newsradio.

Prang added that the yard sale, which began at 8 a.m. Saturday, is also providing an opportunity to help build community.

"This is an opportunity for people to meet their neighbors, to work with their neighbors," he said. "I know a number of yard sale applicants are working together to provide more attractive displays and bringing their goods together in single places to try to get a bigger bang for their buck."

Prang suggests starting on the west side of town where you might have better luck finding a parking space.
