Wanna 'Rumble'? Strips Aimed At Slowing Mulholland Racers
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — If you've got a need for speed, you may want to take your lead foot somewhere other than Mulholland Drive.
KNX 1070's Bill Cooper reports a pilot project set for this spring will introduce "rumble strips" to deter would-be racers along the hairpin turns in the Santa Monica Mountains.

The rumble strips will be installed along a 14 mile stretch of the so-called Mulholland Raceway, which traverses Stunt, Schueren, Piuma and Cold Canyon roads.
About five inches wide and a half-inch deep, the strips will create a noisy, rumbling reminder about the the double-yellow line separating opposing lanes of traffic.
