CONTEST RULES

NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. THE CONTEST IS VOID WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW.

1. How to Enter the Contest:

(a) The KCAL9 "PLAYOFFS TXT TO WIN SWEEPSTAKES," will be conducted live on the air during the broadcast of each of three (3) select Los Angeles Lakers games scheduled to air in Southern California on KCAL 9-TV. Contest is sponsored by CarMax Business Services, LLC.

Scheduled Game Dates for the on-air contest are as follows:
April 22, 2011
April 24, 2011
April 28, 2011

Viewers must consult their local listings or watch KCAL 9-TV for scheduled times of the broadcast game(s) in the Southern California area. KCAL9-TV is not responsible for the cancellation or interruption of any broadcast games within the contest period due to breaking news coverage, emergency, weather, or technical difficulties. The contest ends for each eligible game after the respective broadcast game has officially ended.

(b) To enter, watch a broadcast of a Los Angeles Lakers Playoff game on KCAL 9-TV on one or all Playoff series games of the contest period for a chance to win. Watch for the viewer trivia question during the game and submit your answer by text messaging to the designated number and/or the designated code, as announced during the games; or log onto www.kcal9.com, complete the entry form and submit your answer on the designated entry form page. Text messaging phone calls may incur a charge to the caller, dependent upon the caller's cell phone service contract.

(c) All entries become property of the sponsors and will not be returned. Viewers may enter as many times as they wish. Each Text Message and Online entry received will be considered an entry. An online entry submitted is deemed to be made by the holder of the e-mail account.

(d) Contest sponsors are not responsible for late, lost, stolen, misdirected, misaddressed, postage due, incomplete or illegible entries. Sponsor is not responsible for technical or computer failures, errors or data loss of any kind, lost or unavailable Internet connections, or failed, incomplete, garbled or deleted computer or network transmissions, inability to access any Web site or on-line service, or any other error or malfunction, or late, lost, illegible or misdirected entries. Entry materials that have been tampered with or altered are void. If the judges determine, in their sole discretion, that there is any suspected or actual electronic tampering with the Contest or if technical difficulties compromise the integrity of the Contest, the judges reserve the right to void the entries at issue and/or terminate the Contest and conduct a random drawing to award the prize among all eligible entries received as of the termination date. If the Contest is terminated due to tampering or technical difficulties prior to its expiration date, notice will be posted at www.kcal9.com. If, for any reason, the Contest is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of Sponsor which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Contest, Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entrant that tampers with the operation of the Contest or website or violates the Official Rules of the Contest.

(e) By use of this website and by entering the Contest, you agree to the Station's Web Site Terms of Use Agreement and to the use of your personal information as described in the Privacy Policy located at: http://kcal9.com.

(f) Odds of Winning depend on number of participants.

2. Eligibility Restrictions:

(a) The contest is open to Southern California residents who are 18 years of age or older. Employees of TxtStation, CarMax Business Services, LLC, the Los Angeles Lakers, Inc., NBA Properties, Inc., the National Basketball Association and it's Member Teams, and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, governors, employees and agents. KCAL 9-TV, KCBS-TV, CBS Corporation, other television and radio stations in the Los Angeles market, and their affiliates, subsidiaries and advertising agencies and their immediate family members and persons living in the same household are ineligible to participate or win.

(b) Viewers are eligible to win a KCAL9-TV and KCBS-TV contest only once every sixty days. Only one winner per household is permitted in any contest.

(c) Viewers are eligible to win a prize valued at $600.00 or more only once every six months.

(d) All entries become the sole property of Station and will not be returned. By entering, entrants agree to abide by these rules, and warrant and represent that their entry is their original work, and grant to Station the right to edit, publish, promote and otherwise use their entries without further permission, notice or compensation.

(e) Contestants are required to provide truthful information and the Station will reject and delete any entry that it discovers to be false or fraudulent. The Station will disqualify any entry from individuals who do not meet the eligibility requirements, and the Station will also delete any entry received from persons under the age of 13.

3. Prizes:

(a) Grand Prize Package: One Grand Prize Winner will receive two (2) tickets to the 2011/2012 home season opening professional basketball game in Los Angeles, California, and limousine transportation to/from the game. Approximate Value of Grand Prize Package: $400.00.

All other costs and expenses in connection with winner's receipt and use of the prize(s) are the winner's sole responsibility. Prize Winners are responsible for all other expenses not specifically set forth herein, including gratuities, other transportation, expenses and other incidentals. Prize does not include items not specified, such as parking fees, food, beverages, merchandise, souvenirs, etc. Inability of the prize winner to accept prize, as stated, will result in forfeiture of prize and an alternative winner will be chosen. Other restrictions may apply.

(b) Contest prizes are not transferable. Prizes may not be substituted for or redeemed for cash. Station reserves the right to substitute prize of comparable value.

(c) The winner is responsible for all applicable federal, state, and local taxes.

(d) All prizes or prize certificates may be picked up at the office of KCAL 9-TV, 4200 Radford Avenue, Studio City, CA 91604. Any prize or prize certificate not claimed in person via telephone when contacted by KCBS-TV/KCAL9-TV will be forfeited by the winner. In the event that a prize or prize certificate is mailed to the winner, it will be with the prior written consent of the winner and therefore, the winner assumes the risk of its arrival. KCBS-TV/KCAL9-TV is not responsible for the safe arrival of a prize or prize certificate.

4. Selection of Winners:

(a) One Grand Prize Winner will be selected at random from all correct eligible entries received on Friday, April 29, 2001.

(b) A representative of KCAL9-TV will contact the winner by telephone. If KCAL9-TV is unable to contact a winner based on the information provided on the entry form through the initial phone call, an alternate winner will be selected from all other correct eligible entries. Winner must be present on the phone to win and accept the prize as stated. KCAL9-TV is not responsible for any winner's inability to answer their phone(s) when prize(s) are being awarded by KCAL9-TV. The Grand Prize winner will be required to sign and return to KCAL9-TV an Affidavit of Eligibility and Release of Liability form immediately upon notification. Inability to do so will result in a forfeiture of the Grand Prize and an alternate winner will be selected.

5. Conditions:

(a) Payment of all federal, state and local taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner and winners may receive an IRS Form 1099 or equivalent from Station.

(b) By participating in the contest, the winner agrees to have their name, voice, or likeness used in any advertising or broadcasting material relating to this contest, and to sign a publicity release, affidavit of eligibility and release of liability prior to acceptance of the prize. By accepting the prize, winner grants to Station the right to use the winner's name, voice, picture and/or likeness for purposes of advertising and publicity in any and all media now known or hereafter invented, without further permission or additional compensation (except where prohibited by law). All expenses on receipt and use of prize, and all federal, state and local taxes, are the sole responsibility of winner. Winner, by acceptance of their prizes, agrees to release TxtStation, CarMax Business Services, LLC, the Los Angeles Lakers, Inc., NBA Properties, Inc., the National Basketball Association and it's Member Teams, and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, governors, employees and agents, KCAL 9-TV, KCBS-TV, CBS Corporation, their respective parents and subsidiaries, officers, directors, shareholders and their respective advertising, promotion and production agencies from any and all liability, claims or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages or losses to persons and property which may be sustained in connection with the receipt, ownership or use of the prize or while preparing for, participating in, and/or traveling to any prize-related activity. Void where prohibited by law.

6. Contest sponsors reserve the right to make changes in the rules of the contest which will become effective upon announcement. In the event of a misunderstanding, dispute or human error, KCAL-TV management will make the final determination of the prize-winner. By entering this contest, contestants agree to be bound by these rules and any KCAL-TV management decision concerning the contest.

7. Sponsor is not responsible for any typographical or other errors in the printing, the offering or the administration of the contest or in the announcement of the prize..

8. Failure to comply with the contest rules may result in a contestant's disqualification.
