Teachers, Students Protest Cuts To Education
LOS ANGELES (CBS/AP) — Hundreds of teachers have gathered in downtown Los Angeles as part of a statewide campaign to rally against cuts in education funding.
Teachers from the nation's second-largest school district filled Pershing Square Friday afternoon, holding banners amid honks of approval from passing motorists.
Earlier in the day, students were seen leaving Panorama City High School and lining the streets with signs to protest the cuts to education.
The teachers are holding signs saying "Keep Schools Open" and "Education Can't Wait."
