DUI Driver Crashes Into Simi Valley House, 1 Resident Sustains Minor Injuries

SIMI VALLEY (CBSLA) - Simi Valley Police Officers responded to call shortly after 6 p.m. Monday about a vehicle that had crashed into a home in the 3300 block of Bryan Avenue.

At the time of the crash, at least one resident was home, sitting in the room where the car plowed through the wall. The resident was pushed further into the house, but appeared to have escaped serious injury.

He was, however, taken to a local hospital for evaluation.

Some of the fire crews working on a nearby house fire where one person died moved to the scene of this accident.

Police conducted a DUI evaluation on the vehicle's driver, 62-year-old Simi Valley resident Kim Cutrubus-McQuestion, and ultimately arrested her for DUI causing injury, a felony charge. Cutrubus-McQuestion's blood alcohol content was nearly twice the legal limit at the time of her arrest, according to a statement from the department.
