Suspect sought after man found stabbed to death in Canoga Park

Authorities are searching for a suspect after a man was found stabbed to death in Canoga Park on Thursday night. 

It happened at around 9:20 p.m. in the 8500 block of International Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. They were called to the area after learning of an assault in the area and arrived to find the victim on the sidewalk suffering from a stab wound. 

"A confrontation ensued, resulting in the suspect stabbing the victim in the upper extremities," police said. "The suspect then fled the scene on foot."

The victim, who has not yet been identified, was declared dead at the scene by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics. 

There was no information immediately available on the suspect.
