Suspect arrested hours after deadly shooting in Glendale, police say
Glendale police officers arrested a suspect in a deadly shooting Saturday, authorities said.
Detectives identified and found the suspect in the city of Los Angeles, taking them into custody around 9 p.m. after officers responded to the deadly shooting in Glendale just hours earlier at about 3:03 p.m., according to the Glendale Police Department. They found a man on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound in the 500 block of West Colorado Street after getting a 911 call about shots fired.
First responders rushed the victim to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.
In a statement, the department said the identities of the suspect and victim were not being released due to the ongoing investigation.
"Police believe the shooting was an isolated incident and that there is no ongoing threat to public safety," the statement reads.
Investigators will present the case to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office for consideration of charges next week.
