Support The Arts In Public Schools With Carol Channing
STUDIO CITY (CBS) — Carol Channing visited the KCAL 9 studios Friday!
The three-time Tony award, Golden Globe winning, Oscar nominated screen and Broadway icon returned to The Great White Way earlier this year to help raise money and awareness for the need of Arts in the public school system, through the Dr. Carol Channing and Harry Kullijian Foundation for the Arts.
Although, Carol's heart will remain on stage, she has recently committed her life to bring a refocus of the Arts in the public educational system offering scholarships, teaching lecturing and performances, hoping to engage the public support for education in the arts.
Channing's a new patriotic CD titled "Carol Channing: True to the Red, White & Blue" on Nov 11th and portion of the proceeds will benefit the Channing/Kullijian Foundation. It includes many of her favorite call to action tunes including God Bless America, Battle Hymn of The Republic, Yankee Doodle Dandee/Grand Old Flag medley, Dear Old Glory, Don't Sit Under The Apple tree (with T Graham Brown) and America The Beautiful.
Channing will be signing photos, CD's and audio books at the Burbank Marriott Saturday and Sunday with proceeds benefitting her foundation.
Carol will also be appearing on stage at A Fine Romance Benefit hosted by Catherine Zeta-Jones on Oct 15th to benefit those who have dedicated their lives to the Arts at the Motion Picture Home. Additional cast includes Sean Hayes, Kristin Chenoweth, Matthew Morrison and more.
