Stolen Musical Instruments Located In Pasadena
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Deputies announced Saturday they recovered musical instruments that were stolen from a school in Pasadena.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, officers from the Pasadena Police Department were sent on Tuesday to the Marshall Fundamental School, located in the 900 block of Allen Avenue, for report of a burglary when school officials discovered various musical instruments were stolen.
Around 9:10 p.m., deputies from the Altadena Sheriff's Station saw a suspicious Hispanic man — who stood 5-foot-10 tall, and weighed about 170 pounds — rummaging through a 2001 Mercedes Benz station wagon parked in the 2800 block of East Colorado Boulevard.
When deputies approached the man and requested he walked toward them, the suspect fled eastbound on Colorado Boulevard, and then northbound on Sunnyslope Avenue.
Deputies attempted to chase after the suspect, but were unable to apprehend him. They set up a containment area, but the suspect was not located.
Before deputies left the scene, they looked inside the station wagon, and located several musical cases and electronic equipment that was marked "Property of Pasadena School District."
The car was subsequently impounded, and detectives contacted the Pasadena Police Department to identify the stolen instruments.
"Once the instruments have been returned to Marshall, the school can begin accounting for what instruments and equipment have been recovered by law enforcement, and what is still missing," explained Adam Wolfson of the Pasadena Unified School District.
