South LA Teacher Recovering After Being Shot Near Campus
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A South Los Angeles teacher is recovering Tuesday after being shot in a shoulder while walking toward the parking lot of the school.
The shooting, which took place in the 8900 block of South Main Street near 89th Street, was reported about 3:10 p.m. Monday, according to Los Angeles police Officer Karen Rayner.
The teacher was reportedly leaving Knox Elementary School, which is closed for summer break, after a training session.
Rayner said it is believed the shots came from the north end of the campus, just outside the campus area.
No suspect information was immediately available.
