INGLEWOOD (AP) — The driver of a stolen car has been arrested in Inglewood after authorities say he abandoned the vehicle with his 5-year-old daughter inside.

Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies on Tuesday spotted a reportedly stolen Ford Taurus in Lawndale and chased it on a freeway into Inglewood.

Sheriff's Sgt. Michael Maher tells City News Service that the driver fled, leaving the girl inside.

Maher says the man was found at about 1 a.m. Wednesday hiding in a crawl space under an apartment.
